Lars Oian

I graduated as a jungian analyst at ISAP ZÜRICH in 2010 and has been in private practice since 2006. I have worked in various parts of the public healthcare system where the focus has been treatment and follow up. I have varied experience; as a Senior Advisor in the Children’s House of Bergen for the Ministry of Justice and Police, family counselor in the Children’s Services, student counselor for students with mental illnesses at the University of Bergen, and as a practical nurse at the Psychiatric University Hospital in Bergen for 13 years. I am trained in multiple areas; grief, family therapy and systemic praxis, complex traumatization and dissociation, EMDR for children, youths and adults. I am also educated in art therapy.
I have a broad experience and solid competence in helping families and children who are in crisis or in stressful life situations. I have worked as a family therapist and in mental health for many years. I have supervised foster parents, psychology students in training and others in the health professions and students of art therapy in internship. I have a vast number of courses in mental health and treatment such as mentalisation, IFS, IRRT, psychodrama, the use of fairytales in therapy, courses in meditation, courses on ADHD, anxiety and depression, as well as to learn to use trauma mapping tools.
I have an extensive experience from working with people in crisis and have solid expertise in people who have experienced acute and long-term trauma. To be on the front line each day, meeting traumatized children and their families at the Children’s House in Bergen Police District, has given me a unique and extraordinary experience and insight into their horror of trauma and dissociation. I have a clinically rich and comprehensive overview of the trauma treatment and crisis interventions given. I have also been witness to the deep experience of love, healing and playful approaches to serious problems in therapy such as dreamwork, imagination, drawings and sandplay. The children often choose their own expression through spontaneous playful movement.
Ihave had two seminars at the ISAP in Zurich. The theme of the seminars has been complex traumatization and dissociation in children and young people. I have also held a conference on the same topic at the Jung Institute in Denmark.
I have a master degree in Philosophy of History from University of Bergen. I have also studied psychology, history of religion and pedagogic.
I love nature, and is happy to live with my family next to the ocean and mountains on the west coast of Norway. My interests are hiking, history, writing, folk tales and literature.
